HUNTER JACOBS & JOHNNY BASHAM - Hunter pictured left and his 84 year old grandfather "Papa" on the right. Johnny has always been a regular in the Virginia woods for decades, but over the last 5 years his health has declined and he lost vision in his right eye. This spring Johnny has been feeling a bit better and he asked his grandson to take him turkey hunting, although Johnny has had to teach himself how to shoot left handed due to his loss of vision in his right eye. On Saturday 5/6/17 they endured the wind and had 3 toms come into the decoys, and Johnny missed at 15 yards. They reloaded and Hunter hammered this gobbler. The other gobblers still hung out which allowed Johnny to shoot again, but he missed again. Hunter told his grandfather "I wish you could have killed one of those birds, and "Papa" replied "I'd rather miss, I never thought I would even be able to hunt again". Wow what a great story and memory that this grandfather and grandson will never forget! This is truly what it is all about!!
