This might be a Morel Mushroom story for alltime!!!
The Smith Family of Pittsfield Illinois, certainly know what they are doing when it comes to finding these forest delicacies. Over the past few weeks (late April-early May 2013), which included several trips to their "honey hole", they have amassed over 85lbs of fresh Morel Mushrooms.
That's correct- over 85lbs!!!!
This is an annual event for the Smith's, their 27 acre honey hole typically yields 30-40lbs each year, but the Morel God's have been very gracious this spring. Not only have the Morel God's been gracious but the Smith's are also gracious with their take, they share equally with other family members.
The Smith's say that the Morel Mushroom Hunting Season hasn't even peaked yet and that they expect more Mushroom yield in the weeks to come... WOW!!!
Todd Smith is a highly decorated Taxidermist in Pittsfield IL as well as a real estate agent.
